Carolina Canines for Service is a non-profit based in Wilmington, North Carolina that provides veterans with mobility limitations, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Traumatic Brain Injury with service dogs.

Around 90% of the dogs are from rescue and shelter organizations which offers space for other animals in need and provides a new purpose for the dog helping these individuals.

CFS service dogs are trained in up to 90 commands – like picking up objects, opening doors, creating space in a crowd, and assisting with panic attacks. Their service dogs are at least eight to ten year commitments. CFS is also apart of the The Canines for Literacy program which allows teams to help bring reading to students. Therapy dog teams assist children with developing a love of reading and communication skills.

"Therapy dogs may enter public spaces, with permission, and offer affection, comfort, and stress relief to many individuals. CFS teams receive a vest and awesome patch upon certification!" Canines For Service quotes.
